All eyes of the boxing world have hit Las Vegas for the heavyweight trilogy to reach its conclusion when Tyson Fury faces off with Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title. Fury earned the strap in the rematch with a devastating knockout. Now, Wilder will look for revenge on Oct. 9 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The two first met back in December 2018 with Fury largely outboxing Wilder throughout the contest. But a pair of knockdowns, including one in Round 12 that seemingly came close to ending the fight, for Wilder earned enough in judges’ eyes to rule a draw. Then in February 2020, Fury silenced any doubts by getting inside on Wilder and scoring the seventh-round TKO after Wilder’s corner threw in the towel following multiple knockdowns. Now, Wilder looks for revenge after being granted his rematch by an independent arbitrator just before Fury was able to secure a unification bout with then champion Anthony Joshua.

Since the loss, Wilder has launched into an elaborate string of conspiracy theories ranging from his elaborate costume wearing out his legs before the fight to Fury having tampered with his gloves for a power advantage to his own trainer having conspired against him in throwing in the towel as Wilder wilted under Fury’s big punches.

The PPV undercard features some of the sport’s rising contenders in the heavyweight division. Look no further than the co-feature between Frank Sanchez and Efe Ajagba as the pair of prospects with heavy hands throw down.
