The Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 2 opponent, the Baltimore Ravens, have had some cursed injury luck early on this year. It also isn’t getting any better in their upcoming “Sunday Night Football” game with the Chiefs.

Early reports came in on Thursday that LT Ronnie Stanley could be absent in Week 2 as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, possibly related to the season-ending injury he suffered midway through the 2020 season. But that’s the least of their worries as they gear up to play Kansas City on Sunday night.

According to a new report from ESPN’s Jeremey Fowler, Ravens nickel corner Chris Westry suffered a torn lateral meniscus against the Raiders in Week 1. He played 33 defensive snaps for Baltimore in the season opener and was pretty effective at that.

According to Fowler, the Ravens are looking to add veteran CB Buster Skrine to the 53-man roster. Getting him up to speed in time to be effective defending the slot against the Chiefs, however, is a different story.

The Ravens have already lost former Chiefs CB Marcus Peters for the season with a torn ACL. They lost their top three running backs to season-ending injuries as well. Before the news on Stanley and Westry, they were painfully understaffed already, with just 51 players on their active roster as of Wednesday morning. It looks as if they’ll be even more shorthanded heading into a pivotal “Sunday Night Football” matchup against Kansas City.

They also might be without WR Marquise Brown and DE Derek Wolfe this week, who are reported to be absent from the second consecutive practice of the week on Thursday alongside Stanley and Westry.
